In 2017, the scientific journal Current Biology published an article about genetic studies of remains found in Armenia, Turkey, Iran and Azerbaijan and a comparison of the genetic fund of modern Armenian women. Studies have shown that for 7,000 years, genes have not changed in the genetics of Armenians, there has been no mass invasion of someone else's gene. So the current Armenians are real descendants and heirs of Armenian history, culture and lands.

  12. As an Armenian, I hope that our neighbors in Azerbaijan keep watching those kinds of videos and try reading genuine history books to learn about the Armenian long and rich history. The people of Azerbaijan are brainwashed by the Dictatorship regime which is spreading misleading and false information about Armenia and Armenians and teaching hatred and racism against the peaceful Armenian people solely to stay in power.

  17. Very well rounded account. I’m Armenian and the battle of Aratsani (the third one) is often described in our books as a victory on the basis that Romans didn’t advance after that. I remember being disappointed after looking at more objective sources that described it as a sort of stalemate or defeat. I think Tigran was was a great “strateg” but might have succumbed to hubris or simply didn’t anticipate the quality and discipline of the Roman legion. The battles of West and East have very often been battles of quality and numbers and numbers don’t always win. I truly hope we as a nation start reevaluating our history more objectively in order to not repeat the same mistakes.
