Qatar’s sovereign wealth fund takes a stake in Audi’s future F1 team | Motorspor…

Qatar Investment Authority has announced it will be a ‘long-term investor and partner’ to Audi’s F1 team from 2026.

The sovereign wealth fund of Qatar is acquiring a “significant minority stake” in what will become Audi’s Formula 1 works team from 2026, in a deal announced Friday before the Qatar Grand Prix.

A joint statement said the Qatar Investment Authority will be “a long-term investor and partner” and provide “a substantial capital injection” that will help the team expand its infrastructure.

The team is currently competing as Sauber and will be rebranded as the Audi works outfit for 2026 after it reached an agreement for a full takeover earlier this year.

“This additional capital will accelerate the team’s growth and is yet another milestone on our long-term strategy,” Audi chief executive Gernot Dollner said in the joint statement.

Qatar is already an investor in the Volkswagen Group, of which Audi is a part. “QIA believes that Formula 1 is a sport with significant untapped investment potential,” QIA chief executive Mohammed Saif al-Sowaidi said.

“The increasing commercialisation of professional sports as an entertainment offering globally, and the increasingly global popularity of Formula 1, has made for an exciting opportunity for our first major motorsports investment.”

Sauber is changing both its drivers for 2025, as Nico Hulkenberg and rookie Gabriel Bortoleto arrive to replace Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.

Juicy, tender, and so easy to make!

This meatball recipe is made with ground beef, seasonings, and breadcrumbs and can be baked right away or prepped in batches and frozen for easy weeknight meals.

What You’ll Need For This Meatball Recipe

  • Meat: I love meatballs using beef and pork, but you can use all beef if you’d prefer. I use lean ground beef (80/20)—a little fat keeps them tender and juicy. You can also swap in some veal, lamb, or lean Italian sausage.
  • Egg: Binds the meatballs.
  • Breadcrumbs: Seasoned breadcrumbs add flavor, but you can use any type of breadcrumbs or finely crushed crackers.
  • Milk: Adding a little milk to the breadcrumbs gives these meatballs a tender texture and keeps them from being dense.
  • Onion: Adds flavor and can be replaced with ½ teaspoon onion powder.
  • Seasonings: Italian seasoning and  Parmesan cheese add flavor. Change the seasonings or add fresh herbs to match the other flavors in your meal.

How to Make Meatballs

This easy meatball recipe is quick to prepare.

  1. Mix the ingredients and form 48 meatballs, 1-½ inches in diameter.
  2. Place them ½-inch apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  3. Bake until tender or freeze (full recipe below).
  • Do not overmix: Combine the ingredients gently with your hands; overmixing can make the meat dense and tough.
  • Keep it juicy: Choose lean meat (80/20) and not extra lean — a little bit of fat keeps meatballs tender and juicy. If you’re using extra lean meat, add a tablespoon of olive oil or ¼ cup chopped raw bacon.
  • Swap the seasonings: You can change the seasonings depending on the flavors in your meal. Try crumbled feta in place of parmesan.
  • Keep it even: Ensure the meatballs are the same size so they cook evenly; a cookie scoop makes this job easy.

Storing Leftovers

Store leftover meatballs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days. Reheat them in the microwave in a dish or simmer them on the stove in pasta sauce (I love this brand, Rao’s).

To freeze before baking: Place meatballs on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to a freezer bag and store for up to 4 months.

To bake raw meatballs from frozen, add 6 to 10 minutes to the cooking time or until they reach 160°F with an instant-read thermometer.

To freeze after baking: Bake as directed and cool on the baking sheet. After cooling, transfer them to a clean baking sheet and freeze. Once frozen, transfer to a freezer bag and store for up to 4 months. Meatballs can be thawed in the fridge overnight or by simmering in a marinara sauce until heated through—see recipe notes.

MANILA, Philippines—Hong Kong Eastern’s Cameron Clark showed his familiarity with the league in the squad’s narrow victory over Converge in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at Ninoy Aquino Stadium on Friday night.

Facing a loaded FiberXers squad, Clark played like a man amongst boys in Eastern’s 117-106 win over Converge.

Going up against a squad who also won their first assignment in the import-laden conference, Clark wanted to “lead by example” and he did just that to power the Hong Kong squad to an undefeated start after two outings.

“I’m just trying to lead by example. I’ve been here a couple times and my guys are new to this but they’ll play hard. I feel like, as long as I lead by example, everybody’s going to fall in line,” said Clark.

“I feel like we’re a great group, we’ll keep fighting and we’ll keep building our chemistry.”

Clark muscled his way to a dominant double-double of 39 points and 15 rebounds built on an efficient 62.5 percent field goal clip.

Clark’s counterpart in the Converge camp Cheick Diallo outscored him with 43 points and nine rebounds but it was the former San Miguel Beer import who had the last laugh at the buzzer.

However, it wasn’t just Clark who pushed Eastern to the win as former Bay Area Dragons Hayden Blankley, Glen Yang and Kobey Lam scored 21, 19 and 14, respectively.

“We have a lot of guys who can shoot the ball and create and I think coach (Mensur Bajramovic) puts us in the right positions to make plays and I feel like we did a good job today in sharing the ball, penetrating, passing and knocking down shots,” Clark said.

Bajramovic, on the other hand, emphasized the importance of Clark alongside Blankley, Lam and Yang, who have all had their taste of PBA action in the past.

“[They’re] very important. They bring us a lot. What’s also important is they are good people, good guys and great players. I’m trying to look into the future and they’re there,” said Bajramovic.

“What is very important is they are doing well together [with Clark] and they’re trying to work together and that’s the most important thing. Mistakes are allowed, of course,” he added.
