The latest issue of Fresno State Magazine began hitting mailboxes on Dec. 12 – reaching alumni and friends across the Central Valley, throughout the United States and across the globe. The fall/winter 2024 issue is also available online at magazine.fresnostate.edu.

This issue features a cover story on Fresno State faculty who are social media influencers, using their impressive social media followings to educate people all over the world in a fun, interactive way. Readers will learn about Dr. Raymond Hall, a physics professor with 2 million followers on Instagram, and Howie Hua, a math instructor approaching 100,000 followers on X who shares math tips and tricks.

The magazine also features an exclusive Q&A with new athletics director Garrett Klassy as the Bulldogs prepare to join the Pac-12 in fall 2026, and a teaser of the 30-minute mini-documentary on coach Vance Walberg and the Fresno State men’s basketball team, airing at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 22 on ABC30, with an encore at 10:30 a.m. on Dec. 29.

Other features include renderings of the first new student dorm project on campus in 50-plus years, a glimpse of the international public art exhibit ‘Wings of the City’ now open to the public, a documentary-style video featuring a successful engineering alumnus working in aerospace and more.

Readers will be introduced to Fresno State Magazine’s new standing feature, Course Spotlight, with a video showing the hands-on details of Fresno State’s Biology 125 “Plant Taxonomy” class, and familiar feature Club Hopping, which highlights a new club for students who enjoy board games.
